If Sonic and Amy get along well to the point of "moving in", well Sonic would perhaps prefer instead Amy "moves out" and joins him on his travels. But given Amy is not as fast as Sonic, would perhaps at least visit Amy more frequantly at her place.

If Amy stop chases Sonic to try and marry him and just chase Sonic just to keep up with him then maybe Sonic will feel more obligated to slow down just for her. She would be more successful with Sonic if she stop trying to force Sonic to marry and expect him to comply. So, Sonic hates because Amy because she's young?
