Doric can be found in a small building on the intersection of the roads north from Falador , east of Taverley , and south of the Goblin Village , directly in front of the city gate to Taverley. Ask to use Doric's whetstone OR his anvil. Doric will tell you he needs some materials in order to manufacture some pickaxes. He will hand you a bronze pickaxe.

Where you obtain the ores is irrelevant, and can be obtained from either another player, the Grand Exchange , purchasing from the Dwarven ore store in the Dwarven Mines underneath Ice Mountain and Falador , or by mining the ores yourself level 15 Mining is required for iron ore.
You can mine these ores in any mine that produces these ores in the game. Be wary of travelling into the Dwarven Mines, as there are aggressive scorpions level 14 and a few aggressive King Scorpions level 32 that will attack you in some parts of the mine. Be prepared to fight them, or flee from them if your combat level is low, should you travel into some parts of the mining area. For a "safe" area to obtain all of these ores, you can also travel to the mine at Rimmington , directly south of Falador.
When you have all the ores needed, return to Doric to finish the quest. Head immediately south and you will find all the rocks required to mine both iron and copper ore. Head further south and you will find clay rocks. Mine the correct amounts and return to Doric to complete the quest, you could use a Falador teleport if available to save yourself walking back the whole way.
If you don't have level 15 mining required to obtain iron ore and are unable or unwilling to purchase it, then there are alternative methods. For paid members, pickpocketing H. He is known to be more than years old, meaning that he was born some time before 64 of the Fifth Age.

Doric trained to become exceptionally skilled in hand-to-hand combat, his preferred weapon being a battleaxe , although he would use smaller throwing axes as well. In the mines, Doric is known to have fought a number of dangerous foes, which would later harden his nerves and improve his effectiveness in combat.
In approximately , Doric left Keldagrim for unknown reasons, opting to take up permanent residence in the wooded region north of Falador, on the fringe of Asgarnia. Doric constructed a log cabin south of the Goblin Village , and became largely self-sufficient.
To keep himself supplied, Doric raised a number of mountain goats , although he was occasionally forced to trade with nearby settlements and farmers. By all accounts, Doric was fairly friendly with most of his neighbours, and maintained healthy relationships with most of them.
Kinshra raids, such as those led by Commander Sulla in , tended to focus on more easterly settlements, and the threat of the Kinshra was never cause for extreme worry on Doric's part. As the years progressed, however, small settlements and farms tended to move further west, crowding Doric and causing him to become slightly more hostile to some of his neighbours. Although most were willing to tolerate this change, a handful did bear Doric some resentment.
In , when humans were being attacked by the werewolf Jerrod , a group of men suspected Doric and robbed his house of gems and livestock and burned his hut down. The White Knight Squire Theodore found Doric getting his secret stash of adamantite bars from the ruins of his hut. Doric accompanied Theodore to get justice from the Falador White Knights. There, Doric identified Kara-Meir 's sword as one made of adamant. While staying in Falador, he found one of his stolen gems being sold on the market and tried to take it back, but stopped after the guard threatened to arrest him.
It is located to the east when you first enter the mines, and you can buy Iron for around 1gp each. The shop will also sell copper in small amounts, so it's best to mine the ores yourself.
